Agnes ChungVideo Correspondent Foodable WebTV Network
Agnes Chung is a Reporter for NY1 News, a 24-hour Time Warner Cable local news channel in NYC. Agnes covers the borough of Queens and her reporting ranges from Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath to the U.S. Open to election specials.
Previously Agnes worked as the Producer of ‘NY1 For You’ – a consumer alert, investigative unit that deals with seeking solutions for those who reach out to NY1 News for assistance. The New York Press Club honored her work with the Consumer Reporting Award. During this time, NY1 also sent Agnes to its newly acquired Time Warner Cable station in Palmdale to report and train other reporters on one-man banding.
Agnes began her career covering breaking news at NY1 as a News Assistant while still attending New York University. During college, she worked as a ‘VJ for a Day’ on MTV’s TRL and as a production assistant on Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed.” She graduated with a double-major in Economics and Broadcast Journalism.
Because of her great interest in food, Agnes was asked to host an online promo for a UK-based startup called Guestaurant launching in the US and was interviewed for a KBS documentary about Korean food in America. Agnes also won Fan Favorite at the Miss New York USA 2012 competition; she is a two-time Miss New Jersey USA finalist, once receiving Best in Evening Wear. She is a team leader for New York Cares and a member of the Asian American Journalists Association and New York Road Runners.
