Dan Kim is formerly Managing Partner of TrueValue Partners, a private investment firm that specializes in acquiring, developing and actively managing established middle market businesses. Prior to TrueValue, Dan was Senior Vice President in the Business & Technology Services Group at Macquarie, a full service investment bank based in Sydney, Australia. While at Macquarie, Dan worked on a wide range of transactions from financings to M&A transactions for clients globally. He has also evaluated and executed numerous principal transactions including Macquarie’s $428 million acquisition of Delaware Investments from Lincoln Financial Group. Dan started his career in investment banking at Houlihan Lokey and also worked at Jefferies & Co. Dan is actively involved with the Media Action Network for Asian Americans (MANAA), which is one of the few non-profits dedicated to monitoring the media and advocating for the balanced portrayal of Asian Americans. Dan received his B.A. in Philosophy from Pomona College where he studied abroad at University College in Oxford, England and East China Normal University in Shanghai, China. He also received his M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management with a focus in finance. Dan is a mentor with the Investment Banking Fellows program at the Fink Center at UCLA Anderson and is a frequent speaker at Pomona College.
