Betty Y. Chung is the Deputy Assistant General Counsel for Legislation and Policy at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where she provides legal advice and policy guidance on all matters relating to USAID legislation and legislative strategy, foreign assistance policy, fiscal and budgetary matters. Prior to joining USAID, Ms. Chung worked at the U.S. Small Business Administration, where she was Legislation and Appropriations Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel, and Assistant Counsel to the Inspector General in the Office of the Inspector General. She also worked in private practice at Arnold & Porter and Hendricks & Lewis. Ms. Chung received her B.A. in History and International Relations from Brown University, and J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. She is admitted to the bars of California, the District of Columbia, and Maryland. She is an avid golfer and summited Mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness for clean water in Liberia.
