Priscilla BaekPolicy Lead, Asia UberEconomic and Political Affairs
Priscilla Baek is an international government affairs specialist with experience crafting, managing, and implementing multi-faceted policy initiatives in partnership with U.S. and foreign governments, corporations, industry associations, and non-profit organizations. She is currently senior manager of economic and political affairs at Mitsui & Co. USA, the US subsidiary of a Japanese trading and investment company, where she specializes in political risk mitigation, policy analysis, and relationship management. Prior to Mitsui, she managed a national campaign for international trade at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where she successfully advocated for the passage of the US-Korea Free Trade Agreement in Congress. She was also a key adviser to leadership at the US Department of Treasury’s Office of Financial Leadership, an agency created through the Dodd-Frank Act to support financial regulators in preventing another financial crisis. Priscilla has served on the board of directors of the Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing the next generation of Asian American public service leaders, and was elected Chair of the Board in 2012. She co-founded the Duke Network for International Affairs, and remains active in alumni relations.
Priscilla graduated from Duke University with a bachelors in Public Policy and Spanish Studies, and the University of Hawaii-Manoa with a masters in Korean Studies. She was awarded the Robertson Scholarship and the National Security Educational Program Fellowship.
