Biography

David Chu is President and Co-Founder of Digital Media Rights, one of the largest aggregators and multi-platform distributors of feature films, television shows, music programs, and sporting events. Digital Media Rights oversees a catalog of over 7,500 titles from the leading studios and producers around the world, and is one of the largest content aggregators for the leading video streaming platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Vudu, iTunes, and Google Play, in addition to Cable/Satellite/Telco VOD systems throughout North America.

Digital Media Rights is also a major digital video publisher and has created popular branded content channels on connected devices such as Midnight Pulp (American horror and thriller films), Indie Crush (arthouse and foreign films), Asian Crush (Asian films), Latin Crush (Spanish language films), Audio Crush (music concerts and documentaries), and {un}scripted (reality programs).

Prior to forming Digital Media Rights, David was Head of Programming and Production for ImaginAsian TV – America’s first Asian American cable television network – overseeing Original Programming, Acquisitions, Development, Program Planning and Scheduling. David also co-founded and oversaw two divisions within the company, ImaginAsian Pictures and ImaginAsian Home Entertainment, which distributed pan-Asian feature films theatrically and on home video. David has over 15 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry with prior positions at Showtime Networks, The Sundance Channel, and Fine Line Features.

David received a B.A. in Political Science from New York University and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. He also studied acting at The Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting and The Gene Frankel Theater in New York. David lives in New York City with his family.
