VP, Elected Leadership Leadership for Educational Equity

Biography

Ray is currently the VP for Elected Leadership at Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE), a nonpartisan leadership development organization that inspires their members towards civic engagement. He was also the Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer for Democracy.com, the first social platform for politics that connects voter and candidates at every level. Ray has over twelve years of leadership experience in political campaign management, policy advocacy, coalition building, development and grassroots organizing. Ray served in President Obama’s Administration at the Obama-Biden Transition, Department of the Interior and at the White House; where he directed multi-sector public engagement efforts as a senior executive political appointee. Prior to that, Ray spent nearly two years with the 2008 Obama campaign after serving as political director and union organizer for AFSCME, America’s public employees’ labor union. Ray has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of New Mexico and an M.P.A. from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
