On October 24, NetKAL and the the Korea Economic Institute (KEI) co-hosted a discussion at the Los Angeles City Club between U.S. Ambassador, Sung Y. Kim, and Korean Ambassador, Choi Young-jin.
Each year, the US and Korean Ambassadors of the ROK tour across the country to engage with audiences involved in civic leadership, public affairs, and community organizing. This year, Korean-American leaders of the greater Los Angeles area listened as the Ambassadors Sung Y. Kim and Choi Young-jin addressed the state of US-Korea relations. US Ambassador Sung Y. Kim, a Los Angeles native, touched on the role of present-day Korean-Americans–a hybrid identity with increasing political and economic influences in the US. On a more global scale, Korean Ambassador Choi Young-jin discussed the flourishing Korean economy and its role in the global market.
